Modibbo Adama varsity to graduate 7,094 students in combine Convocation Ceremony

Modibbo Adama University (MAU) Yola is gearing up to host its 29th and 30th Combined Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, 31st January 2026, at the Convocation Square in the main campus.
The event promises to be a grand affair, with a total of 7,094 graduands from the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 Academic Sessions set to receive their degrees, diplomas, and certificates.
Addressing a pre-convocation press briefing, Vice-Chancellor, Ibrahim Umar highlighted the university’s achievements, including the establishment of new academic departments, directorates, and units, as well as efforts to raise academic standards, update curricula, and expand access to inclusive, higher-quality tertiary education.
The Vice-Chancellor announced that the university has received approval for 20 new academic programmes and has entered into international partnerships with universities in Cameroon.

He also commended the Federal Government, Adamawa State Government, and other stakeholders for their support.
A pre-convocation lecture will be delivered by Umaru A. Pate on Friday, 30th January 2026, with the theme “Building Trust Amidst Conflict: Communication, Leadership, and the Promise of Peaceful Coexistence in Nigeria”.
The university has made significant strides in staff welfare, capacity building, and infrastructure development, including the procurement of modern equipment and renovation of faculty buildings.
The Convocation Ceremony promises to be a momentous occasion, and stakeholders are urged to attend.
