The immediate past Vice President General of the apex Igbo ruling body, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Okeke Ogene, has said the joint attack on Nigerian terrorists/ violent crimes by President Bola Tinubu and Donald Trump of the United State of America is long overdue.

Speaking while celebrating his 72 years of age, 42 years of marriage and 30 years of community service to Igbo race, Ogene lamented that  innocent Nigerians especially Christians are being slaughtered like cows on a daily basis by suspected jihadists, Fulani herdsmen and terrorists.

“We passed a resolution in the time of former Governor Willie Obiano that we want a restructured Nigeria. I strongly believe we have not gotten Independence in Nigeria. If we had gotten it you can’t be going to Lagos and have fear of being kidnapped

“Buhari said he.was interested in 95 percent that voted for him, so the remaining 5 per cent did not concern him and he implemented it. Look at what is happening in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, he is not accommodative. In Nnamdi Kanu’s saga, what he is going through does not concern him.

“Christians are being murdered, I never prayed for violence because violence has no friend, sister or brother. If I can quote the President of Burkina Faso, he said  no mercy for terrorists may be when they are killed and go to heaven God may forgive  them,” he stated

Ogene who said he has played his role resolved to give way, reiterating that the work as an Ohanaeze Vice President was too demanding which prompted him to voluntarily withdraw having been blessed by God to have attained these tripartite heights

Speaking at his country home, Nanka, Orumba North Local Government Area, the former Vice PG stated that he was the longest serving member of the body since inception having served four PGs as Vice.

“I served four PGs and won national elections four times as Vice PG, I recently and voluntarily withdrew from Ohanaeze having served the Igbo nation as Vice. My success is between my God and me.. I decided to withdraw because it is too demanding.

“Ohanaeze awarded me a Grand Commander  service award, in Anambra, Ohanaeze has given me awards, ASATU has also given me an award as Grand commander. I was consoled by former Governor Willie Obiano,” he hinted.
