Youths warn against continuous attacks, killings of Ebonyians in  Anambra

A group on the aegis of Unwuekumenyi youths worldwide has warned against the continuous discrimination, humiliation, attacks and killings of the people of Ebonyi State by gunmen in Anambra State.

Unwuekumenyi comprises all the youths, from Ebonyi North and central senatorial zone of the state.

The National  president of the group, Prince  Uche Ali Ega made this known to newsmen shortly after their emergency meeting held at their office, located along Afiikpo road Abakaliki.

The president, Ega who in a fifteen paragraph communique signed and issued to newsmen, said that enough is enough of all the attacks and killings of the citizens of Ebonyi in Anambra state by gunmen. 

“It is most worrisome that the unabated negative profiling of our people and other actions targeted at the collective identity of Ndu Abakaliki in Anambra State has assumed a more dangerous dimension.

“We will recall that on the 19th of June 2025, one Chinedu Ohaji from Umuogudu Akpu Ngbo, Ohaukwu LGA, resident and doing business in Oko, Anambra State was dastardly shot dead by gunmen, while buying roadside roasted corn that evening.

“The Trauma is already incessant just as the list of the mindless killings are endless and we will not continue these unending narratives of unknown gunmen mentality, when protection of lives and properties should be prioritized by the government of Anambra State.

“Ndigbo are known for their inherent and unquenchable industry, embedded in our labour mobility. Therefore, skilled or unskilled labour, be it artisan, traders, technicians, service providers. Aaaàwe are Ndigbo 

“We demand that all forms discrimination, humiliation, attacks and killings of our people must cease forthwith. Ndu Anambra should reciprocate the brotherly and conducive environment provided to all by the government and the People of Ebonyi State to our people resident in Anambra State”  he stated
