Wives of Tinubu, Nwifuru empower 100 women, 300 students with agricultural inputs in Ebonyi

The wife of Ebonyi State governor, Mrs. Uzoamaka Nwifuru has through the renewed hope Initiative of the wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu, empowered over one hundred women and three hundred students with agricultural input.
The Nations News Nigeria reports that the beneficiaries who were equally trained on the new method of agricultural production were slated from the thirteen local government areas of the state.
The training alongside the distribution of the agricultural inputs to the beneficiaries took place at the presidential lodge in the old government house, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.
The governor’s wife, Nwifuru who represented the wife of the president, Oluremi Tinubu said that the purpose of the Agriculture Support program to the women is targeted at boosting food security in the country, especially in Ebonyi state.
According to her: “Today, we gather to celebrate an important initiative that aims to empower our communities through agriculture: the Renewed Hope Agriculture Support Program.

“This program is a project of our dear mother of the Nation, Her Excellency Sen Oluremi Tinubu,, which reflects our collective commitment to food security, economic empowerment, and sustainable agriculture both in Ebonyi state and our country Nigeria.
She revealed further that: “This initiative, Renewed Hope Agriculture Support Program, is designed to enhance productivity, promote agribusiness, and create wealth through four major components.
“Women in Agriculture Initiative, Young Farmers Club, Every Home a Garden Campaign, Youth in Agriculture and Empowerment Program

play a crucial role in agricultural production yet often lack access to necessary resources such as land, credit, and training.
“Today, we are going to empower 100 women in agriculture. Through this program, we aim to empower women by providing:Training Workshops will focus on sustainable farming practices, financial literacy, and business management skills.
“Access to Resources such as seedlings, fertilizers and funds which will enhance productivity. Networking Opportunities by connecting women farmers with each other, we can help them share knowledge and increase their economic opportunities.
“As the state coordinator of RHI, it is important to let you know that the collaboration with the BERWO Foundation will enhance our capacity to implement these initiatives effectively. Tthrough BERWO Foundation and the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, we are ensuring that this program is properly implemented, monitored, and sustained”.
Responding, the commissioner for women affairs, Mrs. Chinyere Iyoku, however applauded the wife of the president, Oluremi Tinubu and the wife of Ebonyi State governor, Mrs Uzoamaka Nwifuru for the training and distribution of agricultural inputs and other related support to the beneficiaries in the state.
She emphasized that the program has offered Ebonyi women the opportunity to overcome the challenges facing them, especially during farming periods in the state.
