‘We are trained to provide security to VIP’s, Nigerians – Ebonyi NSCDC boss, Nnadi assures

The Commandant of the Nigerian security and civil Defence corps, NSCDC, Ebonyi State command, Francis Nnadi has said that the outfit is trained to give adequate security to all Nigerians, as well, VIP’s.

Nnadi also applauded President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander General of NSCDC, Abubakar Audi, the Minister of interior and the governor of Ebonyi State Francis Nwifuru for their invaluable support that resulted to the remarkable development witnessed in the state.

He made this known while addressing prominent stakeholders of the South East region during the conferment of second Patronship award to Chief Collins Eneh, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, ego ma uzo foundation. 

The Nations News reports that the event which took place at the Ebonyi NSCDC headquarters, Abakaliki, was attended by numerous investors and real estate managers.

According to Nnadi; “we have been doing it before now, and I want to assure you, we keep doing what we have to do, that’s what we are trying to serve the state. NSCDC is competent, capable, we are trained to operate in the state and to provide adequate security to Nigerians and VIP’s

"The charge is to go and rejig, reform, re-invigorate NSCDC in Ebonyi State and Today, I am able to say that NSCDC is the number one in Ebonyi state,given to the collaborative efforts of other security agencies.

"The successes we have recorded so far is overwhelming, first to God be the glory, second, my Commander General, Abubakar Audi, the Minister of interior,and to the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for granting us the opportunity to do what we are doing.

"Also, we appreciate the governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru who is very supportive both morally, financially and every other means" he stated.  

Nnadi, however thanked the awardee, Eneh for partnering NSCDC and deciding not to allow the security challenges on the hands of the security agencies alone.

Responding, the awardee, Chief Collins Eneh,declared his continuous support to the outfit in the State, especially to boost the security of lives and properties in the state.

Chief Eneh who hails from Enugu state further called on the stakeholders of the region to support security operatives to ensure that security of lives and properties are promoted.

He appreciated the commandant, Nnadi for the good works he is doing in Ebonyi State and for founding him worthy for the investiture of second Patron of the NSCDC in the state.

Earlier in a remark, the Civil defence community chairman, Mr Mmesoma Egwu said the purpose of creating civil defense community is to give voice to the common man in the streets. 

"Civil defense community is an avenue where members can be security conscious, take security into their hands.Why? By reaching out to people who, you know, people that matter in law enforcement.

"It's a like-mind of people,coming together of people with like-minds who are security conscious,who desire to effect a change in Nigeria. 

"We believe that one person cannot change a country.It's a collective effort. And this is our own contribution" he stated.
