University Don, Baji vows to support community development, humanity

The newly turned Sarkin Yaki of Baji and Director of Institute of Continuing Education and e-Learning ICEeL Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai IBBUL, Mohammed Ibrahim Baji has pledged  to support  the development of rural community and humanity.

He gave the assurance in his Country home in an interview with journalists after being bestowed with the traditional title of Sarkin Yaki (Mai Yaki) of Baji in Gurara local government area of Niger state..

He promised  to always adhere to the principle of equity  and service  to humanity  and assured not to betray the confidence reposed in him.

Professor Ibrahim Baji emphasized that he has been challenged to step up his responsibility, adding that this is not confined to leading war alone but in struggle against any kind of subjugation, injustice, and lack of welfare to the people among others.

The Professor in the Department of Counselling Psychology IBBUL appealed to the community to be united, ensure peace to enhance meaningful development in order to uplift the plight of the community to greater heights.

The Vice Chancellor of IBBUL, Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman said the testimony from the people is a testament of the goodwill, dedication, good character and uprightness of Prof Baji, however prayed for his good health to continue his good works to humanity.

The former Vice Chancellor IBBUL, Muhammad Nasir Maturare said that Baji is a valuable staff member, very focused, productive, highly reliable, determined, hardworking, morally upright and an excellent human being, hence he is worthy of the title from his community and beyond.

Also, Yunusa Umaru from the Faculty of Education ABU Zaria revealed that the celebrant was his student, mentored him and had never disappointed them in which they are proud of him in ABU for forthright ness who is morally trained and prayed for God guidance in his new responsibility 

Similarly, Suleiman Chado Suleiman HOD of Counseling Psychology IBBU Lapai hinted that he was not surprised due to his roles and contributions to the community, described professor Ibrahim Baji as a very hardworking and accommodating individual who carries out assignments and responsibilities with utmost sincerity with fear of God.

Earlier, the Village Head of Baji, Yahaya Umar who bestowed the title of Sarkin Yaki on Mohammed Ibrahim Baji and others stated that he is a special human being down to earth said he is being respected because of his trustworthiness and contributions to the community.

Also, Professor Hadiza Ibrahim Gurusu and Ramatu Haruna both praise the director ICEeL IBBUL Minna describing the celebrant as a team player, humble, upright, simple and a principle person and very disciplined who deserved the title of Sarkin Yaki conferred on him.

The event witnessed the presence of academicians across the country, politicians both local and state levels and people from various communities within the area, traditional rulers among others.
