Senator, Umar Joins governorship Race In Bauchi

The senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Buba Umar, joined the Bauchi State governorship race.

Umar declared the intention during a meeting with Shura Council of Bauchi State Muslim parliament and Stakeholders of the Allah Progressive Congress APC and his supporters after Party Congress.

Shehu Buba urged the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to conduct free, fair and transparent primaries ahead of the 2027 general election.

He assured supporters that he is so much ready to contest and win the APC governorship primary election, added that he remains firmly in the race and committed to providing effective leadership  for the people of Bauchi State 

He expressed confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and their Party APC  would ensure a level playing field for all aspirants within the party.

He called for strict adherence to democratic principles, urging the APC leadership to conduct free, fair, and transparent primaries. 

He further said that party stakeholders should be allowed to choose candidates based on merit and capacity according to the rules of the Party

The senator appealed to party members and supporters to remain calm amid ongoing speculations, assuring them of his continued commitment to the contest.

During the meeting, chairman of Shura Council, Sheikh Yusuf Abdullahi Jahun, commended the imams and clerics for attending the meeting and commended Senator Buba for executing projects that has direct bearing to the life of the people and Pray to Allah to reward him abundantly.

Sheikh Yusuf praised the Senator for his representation of the people of Bauchi South, citing his charitable works and support for the people of Bauchi State as a whole.

The Shura Council, which comprises of scholars and imams from all sects of Islam including Darika, Izala and Shia in Bauchi State, where the leaders of the meeting delivered speeches and papers on the importance of good leadership and serving the community.

They commended the Senator for building several mosques, Islamic Schools, human empowerment, feeding the poor and less privilege , payment of scholarships and tuition fees to many students and Pray to Allah reward him and answer his prayers .

They expressed satisfaction with the expertise, compassion, and care for the community that the Senator displays, stating that such qualities show that he is qualified to continue leading for the development of the community.

The Scholars prayed to Allah Almighty to continue to grant him good health and success, and hoped that Allah would enable him to continue serving the community with ease and success in the future.

In his part, Sabo Mohammed who is the special adviser media to th senator said seek for unity and assured supporters that senator Shehu Buba is still in the race and is fully committed to win the Party Governorship ticket.

Mohammed said the Senator has been called by majority of the people of the State to contest for the seat because of his sterling exemplary leadership qualities .
