Police arrest suspect for allegedly stabbing bank driver to death in Minna

Following the outcry that greeted the killing of a commercial bank driver in Minna metropolis, the State Police Command says the prime suspect has been arrested.
The Command in its crime bulletin for Wednesday signed by the public Relations officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun disclosed that the culpable homicide suspect was napped in Minna.
” Mohammed Amore was on 20th April, 2025 at about 10.45pm at Angwan-Maiturare via Fadikpe, Minna where some members of vigilante with the deceased attempted to effect arrest of some miscreants in the area, and in the process, one of the suspects stabbed the victim dead and escaped”
According to the police a follow-up investigation, on 22nd April 2025, at about 10pm, Police operatives attached to GRA Div arrested the prime suspect named; Nura Abdurahman 23yrs of Fadikpe, from Katsina State who sells chocolate in Kure ultra morden market. Minna
The Command said it had earlier arrested Abdullahi Rabiu 25yrs of Fadikpe, also from Katsina State selling shoes in a wheelbarrow in the same Kure market’, Minna
“During interrogation, Nura confessed that three of them; himself, Abdullahi and one other at large called Buhari were smoking cannabis by the riverside within the area at about 10.30pm and suddenly, vigilante members surfaced to arrest them”
He said that Amore held him, and in a bid to escape, he stabbed the deceased with a shoemaker needle at the left upper side of the chest.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that he escaped and ran to Abuja, but with the cooperation of the community members and relatives, he was apprehended.
The two suspects are under investigation and they will soon be transferred to SCID for further investigation and prosecution.
Meanwhile, as the curfew impose on okada and keke napep riders takes effect, the state police command has arrested fifteen miscreants during raid on different black spots within the State capital.
“In a continuous effort to eradicate thuggery and in compliance with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, mnips to sustain raids and sting operations against miscreants and hoodlums in Minna, on 21st April, 2025 at about 01.45am, Area Commander Minna led Police patrol teams with DPO Chanchaga Div to Shango Area and its environs
“In Chanchaga which led to arrest of fifteen suspected miscreants with the recovery of dangerous weapons such as;Two cutlasses,One sickle,One scissors, One Knife,Six sticks, Cannabis and other illicit drugs
All suspects are under investigation and will be prosecuted accordingly immediately after the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command assures of his commitment to sanitise and stamp out thuggery in Minna metropolis for economic advancement in line with the vision of New Niger.
