PDP ex-rep’s Candidate, Nwachukwu, 2000 loyalists dump party for APC in Ebonyi

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, House of representatives candidate for Ishielu/ Ezza north federal constituency, Obinna Nwachukwu has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ebonyi State.

Nwachukwu who spoke with journalists shortly after the defection, which took place at the APC party secretariat, in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State, said he joined alongside with his 2000 supporters.

He applauded governor Nwifuru for his dedication to improving infrastructure, healthcare, education, and other key sectors in Ebonyi State, adding that Nwifuru’s vision and leadership style is bringing development to the state.

” My defection sends ripples through Ebonyi State’s political landscape, it remains to be seen how this my move will impact the upcoming elections and the overall dynamics of the state’s governance.

” Am watching to see how this development will shape the political landscape in the state in the days and months ahead” he stated.

In a swift reaction, the Chairman of APC, Stanley Okoro Emegha insisted that a unified political front would foster stability, continuity, and accelerated development in the state.

He called on politicians and citizens to set aside their differences and focus on building a stronger, more prosperous future for the state.

Emegha noted further that the defectors will be accommodated in the affairs of the Party, and that the Party would continue to receive those who wants to join APC for a united and prosperous State.

“Do not restrict people from coming to APC, don’t segregate. Tell them let everybody come let us come together. The house is more than enough to carry all of us”, he stated.
