Old Boys Association Charges  Edgerly Girls Exco on Transparency, Accountability

The National President of Hope Waddell Old Boys Association, Architect Ekpo Akiba, has tasked the newly inaugurated President of Edgerly Old Girls Association, Mrs. Henrietta Uwemedimo, to prioritize inclusive leadership, unity, and good governance.

Hope Waddle National President gave the charge during the inauguration of the new executive that took place at Edgerly memorial School Chaplain in Calabar yesterday.

Emphasizing on the importance of  proactivity,  the National President  called for transparency and giving  the association ‘s  stakeholders opportunity to take part in decision-making process  so as to take the association enviable pedestal.


He advised the first national president of Edgerly Old Girls to be transparent, stressing that maintaining transparency in handling matters that bothered  on income and expenditure was the only avenue that  could assist Edgerly Old Girls National President leave a legacy records when her tenure elapsed.

The Hope Waddle National President advised the exco to work as a team, as team work remains the surest way to achieve success.

Akiba also suggested a three-year tenure for the Edgerly Old Girls Association leadership to allow for more impactful programs and initiatives, as the current two-year tenure might be too short to bring significant change. 
He expressed willingness to partner with the Edgerly Old Girls Association to improve both institutions.

In response, Mrs. Uwemedimo pledged to lead the association with integrity, promising to be approachable, transparent, and accountable. 

She emphasized the importance of honoring the values instilled by their alma mater, such as hard work, resilience, and kindness
