NSCDC boss, Nnadi urges Civil defence community members to foster peace, security in Ebonyi 

…..installs 1st Patron, Ambassador

The state Commandant of the Nigerian security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Ebonyi State command, Francis Nnadi has urged the members of the civil defence community to foster peace, unity and security in the various communities of the state.

Nnadi made this known while addressing the members of the civil defence community during the award of excellence/ Investiture of the first patron and Ambassador of the corps, held at the NSCDC headquarters Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital.

He stated that the establishment of the state civil defence community has yielded great results, and has assisted the command to provide security to the grassroots.

“The Civil Defence community has come to stay. This community has created an opportunity for every Ebonyian to have unlimited access to security.

“If police, NSCDC or any other security outfit are manhandling you, or you are hurt by any means, this is the opportunity for you to voice out. The Civil Defence community is created to be the voice to voiceless.

“Security is not meant for the big men alone, it is for everybody. We are making this civil defence community available, irrespective of your clans, or you are a Keke or Okada rider, an artisan by street, you have an opportunity to be heard.

“Every member of this civil defence community is part of NSCDC and we don’t want any of you to do things in a wrong way” he stressed.

In a remark, the state chairman of the civil defence community, Mr. Nmesoma Egwu, however vowed to ensure that the community promotes peace, security and development in all parts of Ebonyi State.

He also urged the first patron and the first Ambassador of the civil defense community of the NSCDC; Ebonyi State chapter, Mr. Sunny Ike Ogbonnia and Mr. P. Satya to use their wisdom and expertise for the  development of communities in the state.

The first patron, Mr. Sunny Ike Ogbonnia is the president of the Ebonyi State Union in the United Arab Emirates and as well the managing director of M2 Gas limited, while  Mr. P. Satya is the executive director First patriot Nigeria limited.

In their separate reactions, shortly after the Investiture by the NSCDC commandant, Ike Ogbonnia said the award has poised him to contribute maximally towards the promotion of peace, security and community development, as well as the empowerment of youths, especially in his Afikpo community.

Responding, Satya applauded the efforts of NSCDC in promoting Peace and security in Ebonyi communities, and in the country at large.

He said that peace attracts investors to come to Nigeria to invest, stressing that Nigeria is blessed with lots of natural resources, “we expect Nigeria to be on top of the world because they have all things needed by investors” he stated.
