…..says proposal for the creation of state police in Nigeria is an efforts in futility

By Cyprian Ebele, Onitsha

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, at the weekend insisted that no amount of security system would stop Nigeria’s disintegration.

The leadership of IPOB, through it’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful made this known while reacting to the proposed creation of state police in Nigeria.

The group insisted that it preferred regional police than the proposed creation of state police by the Nigerian government.

IPOB described the proposal as an effort in futility, noting that the plan by an APC led federal government for a state police is a strategy to capture all states into one APC party.

“It is not meant to curtail insecurity and insurgency in the country. Nigerians should shine their eyes. If Tinubu’s government is sincere to curtail insecurity and insurgency ravaging the country, they should establish Regional Police not State Police.

“No state government can handle insecurity alone without the support of their neighboring states. Moreso, creating State Police will provide opportunity for pro-terrorist governors to provide a safe heaven for criminals and terrorists in their state. But a Regional Police command can forestall such a situation.

” Finally, many governors in Nigeria today are tyrants even without full authority over security forces. You can imagine what they will do if they have authority over security forces like the Nigeria Police Force.

“The Federal Government of Nigeria and the National Assembly have the constitutional right to establish Regional Police Commands if they so wish. Since the constitution recognizes six Regions in Nigeria, then such regions should be empowered by law to establish Police Commands.

“Such Regional Police Commands should comprise indigenous officers from the region, and they should report to the Governance Structure of that Region, which include, the governors forum and other stakeholders and leaders in the region,” he advised.

IPOB recalled that “In the old Eastern Region, which was later partitioned to South East and South South, we were one people, and all the States were interlocked and connected. Hence, State Police can’t work in our region. But, establishing Regional Police is very possible and will be advantageous for the region.

” After all, Amotekun in South West is a regional vigilante formed by the people and governors of South Western Nigeria. In Biafra Land, IPOB established Eastern Security Network (ESN), which is a Regional Vigilante formed to protect South East and South South from marauding Fulani terrorist herdsmen attacks.

“These two security vigilantes, particularly ESN, have done well in protecting Biafra territory even with the resistance from the Nigeria government and her security forces, who are allegedly colluding with the terrorists to conquer Biafra territory and Yoruba land.

“The effort of the Nigerian government to reduce security forces from the national to state or local government is an effort in futility because the country was conceptulized in fraud and destined to collapse. The collapse of the National Security systems and the call for State Police means that no one believes in the contraption called Nigeria anymore.

“People believe in their tribes, ethnicity, and not in Nigeria. Therefore, Britain and other interested parties in Nigeria should hasten up and organize a dialogue on the peaceful dissolution of Nigeria to avoid the pending explosion. No form of cosmetic security system will save Nigeria from disintegration,” he posited.
