NLC Strike: Police Warn Protesters to shun violence, molestation in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has warned the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, who will be protesting between Febuary 27-28, 2024 in the state to shun all forms of violence, molestation and should conduct their procession within the guidance of the law.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, who made this known through in a press statement signed and issued to newsmen in Bauchi, said that the command will exercise its full powers to ensure that no rights of other citizens are violated.
He said that adequate security measures would be placed to ensure hitched-free conduct of the procession across the State.
“The Command in conjunction with relevant security agencies in the state will not hesitate to subdue any individual or groups that may willfully hide behind these peaceful protests to cause havoc and breach of public peace and safety in the State”
“Any attempt by reckless miscreants or hoodlums to leverage these processions will be resisted in every manner humanely possible within the ambit of the law”
He also advise the good people of the state, particularly the business men and women to go about their businesses without any fear of harassment or molestation.
The command spokesperson, Wakil added further that “say something, if you see something, for the Police to immediately do something.” He stressed.
