Nigeria @65: Bago urges Nigerians to renew commitment to unity, patriotism

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has congratulated  Nigerians as the nation celebrates her 65th independence anniversary.

In a message through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, to mark Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary with the theme “All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation,” the Governor says Nigeria has made significant strides in its journey of nationhood.

He noted that 65 years of independence as a nation with cultural diversity is a milestone worthy of celebration and a reflection of unity, strength, resilience, and determination as a people.

He said  Nigeria is a blessed nation with abundant human, natural, and capital resources.

The Governor  expressed  the hope for a better Nigeria as efforts are being intensified by government at all levels to strengthen institutions and bring reforms that would maximise the nation’s potential and improve as well as protect the lives of all Nigerians. 

“The farmer governor commends the nation’s founding fathers and others who have made significant contributions to keep the country united.

While acknowledging the challenges bedeviling the nation, Governor Umaru Bago urges Nigerians to reflect more on the progress made so far and renew their commitments to patriotism and selflessness, as they are key to a nation’s progress.

He says the task of nation-building is a collective one; hence, Nigerians should continue to pray for purposeful leaders at all levels.

 Governor Mohammed Umar Bago reaffirms his support for the Renewed Hope agenda of the federal government, especially in terms of agriculture, infrastructure, health, education, youth and women empowerment, and others.

He further reassures residents of the state that his administration remains committed to actualizing the New Niger agenda that will create several economic opportunities to better their lives and ensure their safety.

“As we celebrate the 65th independence anniversary of our nation, I urge us all to reflect on the progress the nation has made, see our diversity as strength, and make a fresh commitment to be united, patriotic, positive, prayerful, and hopeful that Nigeria will be a better country,” he added.
