Niger: Police rescue 17 kidnap victims, handover to Gov. Bago

The Niger State Police Command has rescued seventeen kidnapped victims and handed over to the State government for onward reintegration to their families.
The State Commissioner of Police, Abdullahi Muhammed handed over the victims, mostly women and Children to the State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago at the command headquarters, Minna.
The police command however, was silent on how they were rescued during the handing over ceremony.
The Police through the command spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun explained that the seventeen (17) kidnapped victims were however rescued in Kaduna State.

He noted that the victims were abducted on 3rd March, 2025 at Loto Village, via Kuchi Sarkin-Pawa, Niger State.
The Command public Relations officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun also did not disclose if ransom was paid before their release was secured.
The rescued victims were later handed over to the Deputy Governor of Niger State, Yakubu Garba, who represented Governor Mohammed Umar Bago at the solemn and briefly ceremony.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied by top Government functionaries at the State Police Headquarters, Dutsen-Kura Minna.
