Niger police beef up security ahead of Yuletide, ban fire works.

Niger State Police command has beef up security around the State ahead of the Yuletide celebrations and announced the banning of fire works.
The Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Adamu Abdullah I Elleman in a statement through the command police spokesman, SP Waisu Abiodiun said, no stone will be left unturn towards ensuring a hitch free holidays.
“In view of the Yuletide season, which covers the period of Christmas and the New Year that is usually characterised by high human and vehicular movement, with religious and socio-economic activities.
“The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Adamu Abdullahi Ell has ordered for adequate deployment of Police personnel and operational assets for a peaceful Christmas and New Year celebration in the State”

According to the statement, he directed Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and DPOs that the deployment should adequately cover public places, particularly, places of worship, recreation centres, amusement parks, motor parks and highways within the State to provide the required security coverage before, during and after the season.
He noted that, the CP further directed officers to strictly adhere to the operation order drawn for the season, and ensure intelligence-led and high visibility policing, with respect for human rights across the State, while ensuring the safety of travellers and free flow of traffic.
The command further stated that this is in addition to the joint Show of Force and township patrol of Operation Flush, as well as constant raids of black spots, which are proactive measures emplaced for crime prevention, and quick response for intervention in case of any incident.
However, he urged members of the public/Nigerlites and Christian faithful to be law-abiding and celebrate responsibly.
The State Police Command warned against the use of fireworks as the ban is still in force, to avoid fire incidents and wanton destruction of property.
” Let me admonished people to be vigilant and continue to support the Police and other security agencies with credible information towards ensuring a secured environment”/
He assured Nigerlites of the continued commitment of the Command in providing security, maintenance of law and order, and protection of lives and property among other duties.
While celebrating with residents of the state, the CP released dedicated emergency phone lines for rapid response.
