Mixed reactions have reportedly trailed the claim of Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, that he was not able  to secure land in Enugu and Anambra states, Southeast zone, for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul, (MRO) of airplanes which forced him  to establish MRO facility in lagos.

Onyema in defence said that because of difficulties in security the land, accused Igbo people of not making land available for construction of his multi million dollars MOR facility in either Enugu or Anambra states.

In a swift reaction when contacted, the National President of Heavy Duty Truck Drivers Association of Nigeria,  Uche Rogers Nebuwa, disagreed with the claim of Onyema saying that Onyema met the wrong people for land allocation for MRO facility.

“Onyema did not get to the right people for the land, if he is serious there is land at Urum and other places, in Igbo land. We need development as Igbo people. We are even looking for investors to come.

“Igbos are very hospital to investors, let Onyema come down to the east, we have enough land for him and nobody is refusing giving him land, he only wants to invest in Lagos, there is need for “akuluo Uno,” he stated.

Reacting, the President General, Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders’ Association, ASMATA, Humphrey Anuna, admitted the position of Onyema stating that Igbos do not assist their brothers.
