Kogi: Commissioner urges NIESV new executives to fight against quackery

The commissioner for information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo has urged the newly inaugurated executives of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, (NIESV) to fight against quackery in the state.
The Nations News Nigeria reports that NIESV inaugurated its new executives with John Eniwaiye emerging as the new state Chairman.
He emerged as the new Chairman, of NIESV Kogi State branch at the association third Annual General Meeting, (AGM) held in Lokoja.
Eniwaiye, who will be piloting the affairs of the union in the next two years takes over from Apeh Philips whose tenure has elapsed.
Other NIESV executive inaugurated are Anthony Tinufa,( Vice Chairman), Agada Frederick ( Secretary), Halima Etubi, ( Financial Secretary), Omeiza Sunday, (Public Secretary), and Ibrahim Bukky Sikirat (Treasurer),
Also inaugurated to serve as executive of NIESV between 2025-2027 are Osanatye Olushola, (Welfare Secretary), Muhammed Abdulwasiu (Auditor), Samuel Faruna, (Asst. Publicity Secretary), and Bayebosi Samuel, (Unofficial).
The Commissioner, Fanwo who was represented by the Director, news and publication, Kogi State Ministry of Information Samuel Atuluku urged the new excos to be innovative and make a positive difference in order to justify the confidence reposed in them
“It is no longer news that the present administration in Kogi State under the chief servant, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is poised to make life better for all and without bias or discrimination.

He also called on the new executive and members to do all within their reach to bring quackery to its barest minimum, adding that, the negative consequences of quackery in any profession have been very devastating; hence the need to heed this appeal becomes imperative”.
Earlier in his acceptance speech, the newly sworn in NIESV chairman in Kogi State John Eniwaiye applauded members of the association for finding them worthy to serve in the next two years.
According to him “It gives me great pleasure to stand before you this day with a humble and a sincere heart that I offer my profound gratitude to the maker of heaven and earth for making this day a reality.
“We are indeed grateful and promise to partner with the State Government in achieving his good agenda in the built environment within the State at large. Our distinguished guests, we thank you for honouring our invitation and also for being part of this historic event.
” My acceptance of this demanding position is not premised on title but full responsibilities that calls for selfless service towards prioritizing members’ welfare, growth, and capacity development as a detribalized leader who focused more on impactful results.
Responding, the immediate past Chairman of the union in his farewell speech that noted, during their tenure in office, the branch institution witness a tremendous increase in membership strength by induction of ten (10) new members into the fold of the branch institution.
“This is a remarkable feat achieved by the branch since its inception in 1991. The feat was achieved through the collaborative efforts of the advocacy committee and education/research committee, headed by Jonh Eniwaiye and Idris Yusuf Abbas, respectively.
