Hunger protests: ‘Only Biafra independence will end hunger, hardship – MASSOB insist
By Cyprian Ebele, Onitsha
The Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, otherwise called Biafra Independent Movement, BIM, on Thursday insisted that only Biafran Independence would end hunger and hardship in the country.
The group however, advised Sunday Igbodo, Yoruba nation, AREWA, among others not to sympathize with Igbos over the current nationwide hunger and hardship protests.
The MASSOB leader/founder, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, made this insertion to newsmen in Onitsha, through his Media Director, Maxi Chris Mocha, recalling that he (Uwazuruike) had earlier in 2002 predicted about the current happenings, including the jihad war, he said will also be experienced in Nigeria.
“As the cost of living continues to bite harder on Nigerians without any end in sight, my consolation is that the State of New Biafra will emerge in no distant time without fighting another civil war with Nigeria”.
He noted that the Igbo people have suffered for too long in Nigeria, and reiterated that the Igbo do not need any apology from the Yoruba of the South west or Hausa/Fulani of the North who he stated aided and abetted carrying out the genocide against Ndigbo.
“God is revenging the Northerners and the Yoruba people who killed our breadwinners and left our little children as orphans”, Uwazuruike said.
According to him: ‘what is needed as the only panacea to the current insecurity and hardships plaguing the country is outright BIafran independence.
The MASSOB leader went further to disclose that the current suffering was caused by many years of bad leadership and wrong economic policies of Nigerian leaders.
He urged members of his noble organization to learn to endure the hardship noting that God is punishing Nigeria and those that aided and abetted in unleashing genocide against Ndigbo during the civil war of 1967-1970.
As a reminder to some predictions he made in 2002, Uwazuruike urged his followers to continue to endure the current hardship saying “the sufferings will still come but at the end, the State of New Biafra would emerge”.
‘”Time will come when you won’t do your obligation for Biafra; not being able to pay your dues and other things required of us”, Uwazuruike once predicted way back in 2002.
