Gov Otu’s Wife, Commissions Cross River Diaspora Commission in Calabar

Cross River State governor’s wife, Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, in company of Chairman/ Chief Executive Officer (CEO)Nigerian’s Diaspora Commission, Mrs Abike Dabiri – Erewa in Calabar commissioned the Cross River State Diaspora Commission complex.
The wife of the Governor stated in her remarks that the Commission will help to connect, engage, and empower Cross River State indigenes in the diaspora.
The CEO Nigeria’s Diaspora Commission in her address also stated that the commission once it becomes operational in the state will help to foster global partnership, investment and development to promote socio-economic growth and prosperity of the state.
She further called on other State Governors to emulate Cross River State by setting up a Diaspora Commission in their various states, maintaining that with this, “we are opening bonds connecting doors of opportunities” , she added.
Speaking while commissioning the project, Otu’s wife stated that with the commission, Cross River will become a leading diaspora commission that will bridge the gap between indigenes of the state and its global community, catalyzing sustainable development, innovation,and prosperity for the benefit of all.
In his remarks, Head of Media, Nigerians in diaspora, Mr. Gabriel Odu, stated, ” We in the Diaspora Commission are ready to work with you.
“This will help Cross Riverians in the Diaspora to come home and work with you. We have to encourage our brothers abroad to return home and contribute to the growth of the state.
The Chairman of Cross river Diaspora Commission, Mr. Otu, Okor in his remarks promised to give a warm reception to the 300 diaspora warming up to visit the state to celebrate Diaspora day scheduled for November 2025.
