Gov. Otu swears-in Ubi as the substantive Clerk of Cross River State Assembly

The Governor of Cross River State, senator Bassey Otu has sworn-in Catherine Ujong Ubi as the substantive Clerk of the Cross River State House of Assembly.

The swearing in took place at the governor ‘s temporary office in Calabar, Cross River State capital.

Governor Otu applauded the 10th Assembly under the leadership of Elvert Ayambem for upholding the truth and justice in the selection of the clerkship position and ensuring that the most senior director was appointed in line with the Cross River State House of Assembly Service Commission Law and Public Service Rules.

The Governor who observed that, the Clerk serves as a link to boost the cordial relationship between the Executive and the Legislature, congratulated Ubi on the appointment.

The Nations News Nigeria reports that Catherine Ubi rose through the ranks in the State Civil Service, by dint of hard work, to the position of Director in 2013.

It was gathered that Ubi headed the Legal Department of the state Assembly before her appointment.

The Clerk in her remarks promised to uphold the tenets of the State Public Service in the discharge of her duties as Clerk of the House of Assembly.
