Gov Fintiri calls for establishment of police institution to boost fight against Insurgency

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has appealed to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun to establish Police Institutions in Adamawa, like other States in the Northeast region.

The Governor disclosed this during the courtesy call paid to him by the inspector general of Police at Government House Yola.

Governor Fintiri in his speech, asks for the Police Mobile Base and Counter Terrorism in Madagali local government area to boost the fight against Boko Haram Insurgency.

The Governor thanked the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun for the visit to Adamawa State for the second time, and assured him of more collaboration.

He also assured that his administration would continue to support the Police logistically, financially among others to continue to operate for the peace of Adamawa State and the Country at large.

Earlier, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun explained that the purpose of the visit was to thank the Governor, his government and the People of Adamawa State for their full support to the Police.

The IGP who felt excited for the visit, described Adamawa State as a home to many Police personalities, saying that the police have recorded numerous successes in its operations including the collaboration with the military.

He appealed that the partnership should be taken to the next level to enable people to continue to enjoy the dividends of Democracy.

The Inspector General of Police concluded that his leadership in the force would continue to build capacity, equip Police officers with the needed skills, and prioritise community engagement for a safer and secure future for the people.
