FG engages Hong Kong, Botswana to eliminate double taxation in Nigeria

The federal government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved agreements with Hong Kong and Botswana to eliminate double taxation, with the purpose of curbing tax evasion in the country.
The Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris made this known in a press briefing, shortly after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja
He revealed the preparedness of Tinubu’s administration to eliminate double taxation in the country.
According to Idris: “there’s an approval for an agreement for the elimination of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and prevention of tax evasion and avoidance between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.
“The last one from the Federal Ministry of Finance is the approval for signing of an agreement for the elimination of double taxation with respect to taxes on income and the prevention of tax evasion and avoidance between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Botswana.” he stated.
