The former House of Representatives aspirant for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Idris Oluwafemi Idrufem has tasked Muslims to imbible the spirit of selflessness, peace, kindness, love and sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
Idrufem, a community leader, made this known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen to mark this year’s Eid-El-Kibir celebration in the country.
He charged Muslims both at home and in diaspora to use the period of Eid-El-Kibir to pray for peace, unity, prosperity, economic and social development in Kogi state and Nigeria at large
According to him: “I congratulate kogites and Nigerians who have been able to undertake the Hajj in fulfillment of their religious obligations.
“As they undergo the rites of the Hajj in the Holy Land, and celebrate the feast of sacrifice here at home, I urge our Muslim faithful to offer special prayer for us to witness development of our dear Kogi state in particular and Nigeria at large.
Idrufem appealed to Muslim faithful not to allow the lesson of the celebration to be lost in the merry making, but rather uphold it and sustain it in their daily activities.
He appealed to individuals to come to the rescue and assist the less privileged living around them, to help them cushion the hard economic challenges facing Nigerians.
“As we are celebrating the Eid-El-Kibir, we must look around us to help those in need. We must help the less privileged. We must sacrifice our time and genuine love at this period for another and continue to pray for the prosperity and development of our land” he stated.
