Ekpenyong Celebrates Christmas with Over 800 Children of Cross River South

Over 800 children, parents and community stakeholders converged at Channel View Hotel, Calabar, for the Cross River South Children’s Christmas Celebration organised by Mrs. Nela Ekpenyong, wife of the Senator representing the Senatorial District.
The event, which provided a platform for fun, learning and social interaction, featured games, music and dancing, snacks and treats, as well as gifts and surprises for children drawn from different parts of the district.
Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong in his remarks emphasised the importance of prioritising the welfare and development of children, describing children as the foundation of society and reiterated his commitment to initiatives and policies that promote education, child protection and youth empowerment across Cross River South.
In her remarks, Mrs. Nela Ekpenyong described the celebration as an opportunity to not only give children a memorable Christmas experience, but also provide a platform to reaffirm the values of family and community support.

She thanked parents, volunteers and partners for their cooperation and support, noting that collective effort remains key to nurturing the next generation.
Parents at the event expressed appreciation for the initiative. Mrs. Chijioke Edem described the programme as thoughtful and impactful, saying it created a safe and joyful environment for children to celebrate Christmas.
The Cross River South Children’s Christmas Celebration concluded with the presentation of gifts to the children and renewed calls for sustained investment in child-focused programmes across the senatorial district.
