….As command vows to secure lives and property of the citizens

The Niger State Police has deployed personnel and tactical teams to maintain peace and order in all parts of the state, as to ensure a hitch-free Eid El Kabir celebration.

The  Command’s spokesman, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who made this known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Minna, said the proactive measure is aimed at securing lives and property of the citizens.

The statement reads in par: “In view of the Year 2025 Eid-el-Kabir which is scheduled to be celebrated on Friday 6th June 2025, 

“The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, mnips has directed HODs, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and DPOs to deploy massively and adopt proactive measures such as stakeholders’ engagement, intelligence-led policing, raids of blackspots and confidence-building patrols within their AOR for a seamless and peaceful Sallah celebration”

He disclosed that  the Commissioner of Police further directed officers to mobilize operational assets including Anti-riot water cannons to be positioned at strategic locations, gun trucks, operation flush patrol vehicles and also ensure adequate deployment of Police personnel for visibility policing and other observation posts for a tight security arrangement before, during and after the festivity.

In addition to these, tactical commanders,  he reveled have been directed to ensure adequate deployment of tactical teams such as the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU),

Others are; Explosive Ordnance Disposal Chemical Biological Radiological & Nuclear Unit (EOD-CBRN), Tactical Support Team (TST), Crack Squad and Anti – Kidnapping Unit of the Command to cover Eid praying grounds, recreation centres, amusement parks and other strategic public places.

The CP noted that the Command would conduct Show of Force as part of preparation for the special assignment, and Operation Order has been issued to officers stating their specific responsibility to provide reliable security coverage and ensure free flow of traffic at every assigned Eid praying ground, with supervision of men deployed for the assignment.

The Command wishes to warn parents and guardians to ensure a firm grip on their wards, most especially to comply with the suspension of Hawan-Barki, Durbar and other elaborate Sallah activities as announced by the State Government in commemoration of the Mokwa flood victims.

The Commissioner of Police felicitates with Nigerlites and Muslim Ummah in the State on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, and urges all to pray for the repose of the souls of the loved ones lost during the unfortunate incident.
