C’River carnival Commission partners Insurance firm against accidental indemnity

The Cross River state carnival commission has announced it partnership with International Energy Insurance IEI to insure all participating bands in this year’s Africa biggest street party are insured against any accident during the event. 

The Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Gabe Onah made the disclosure shortly after the official flag off of the  3rd dry run of carnival Calabar that would  lead to the Dec, 29th 2024 carnival show max. 

Mr Onah explained that the insurance package would take care of accidental indemnities of  participants who  may sustain any form of injury during the street party, including compensation payment to the family of participants who may unfortunately pass on during the event.                    

He pointed out that traversing the 12 kilometers carnival route is energy sapping and certain safety measures needed to be put in place to encourage participating bands of their safety and more importantly to  keep pace with international best practices.

Onah, also announced another partnership with Yanger games for a lottery deal that see the first three winners going home with a mouth watering cash price of 10 million Naira.  

He further announced a group personal accident GPA, for accidental injuries involving more than a single participant while the street show is ongoing.
