Bishop Nwokolo enjoins new monarch to rule without fear or favour
By Cyprian Ebele, Onitsha
The Anglican Bishop on the Niger, Anambra State, Rt. Rev. Owen Nwokolo, has enjoined the new traditional ruler of Oba, Idemili South Local Government area, Anambra state, Igwe Augustine Chinedu Emelobe, to rule without fear or favour as he is God-sent to better the welfare of the people.
Giving the charge during the thanksgiving church service of the monarch after his maiden Ofala festival, held at Merchants of Light School and the subsequent thanksgiving mass conducted at St Thomas Anglican Church, Okuzu Oba, the Bishop reminded him of the need to always do the wish of God in serving the people as God-sent monarch.

The bishop reminded him that whom much is giving much is expected from him especially in a community like Oba that was engulfed in Igweship, land grabbing and other crimes in the area.
“I pray for Igwe, let nobody fight him for he has been sent by God to rescue the people from boundage. Support him to move Oba forward.
“We pray for his long life, the Lord has found his reign will be in peace. May your days be long, the good work you have for Oba will be accomplished without hitches,” he prayed.
In his response Igwe Emelobe recalled his ordeal in the hands of land grabbers adding that when he came to contest for the Igweship throne they frustrated him and he abandoned the race especially when he thought Igweship was a fetish thing.

According to him, he did not know that God had destined that he would be the next monarch until it dawned on him that the Lord was behind him and he came back and continued the race.
He urged all that took people’s land without the consent of the land owners to return such land vowing that he has started from today in the church to do his work in Oba.
