Bauchi Govt Signs 14 New Emirates, Chiefdom ino Law

….. Warns against politicizing the implementation

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi state on Tuesday signed 13 new emirates and 1 Chiefdom into law, adding that his administration will not tolerate any attempt to undermine, obstruct, or politicize the implementation of the laws.
The signing of the laws held at the executive council chamber of the Bauchi government House.
The newly signed emirates and Chiefdom including of the BURRA with Headquarter at Burra, DAMBAM with Headquarter at Dambam, DARAZO with Headquarter at Darazo, DUGURI with Headquarter at Yuli, GAMAWA with Headquarter at Gamawa, GIADE with Headquarter at Giade.
Others include of TORO with Headquarter at Toro, WARJI with Headquarter at Katangan Warji, ARI with Headquarter at Gadar Maiwa, JAMA’A with Headquarter at Nabardo, LAME with Headquarter at Gumau, BUNUNU with Headquarter at Bununu, LERE with Headquarter at Lere and Zaar Chiefdom.
The governor said that the reforms are not political, but policy-driven, aimed at improving grassroots governance, enhancing local participation, promoting inclusivity, and boosting internally generated revenue and development planning data.
He commended the Bauchi State House of Assembly for its patriotism and legislative diligence, and the Hamza Koshe Akuyam Committee for its transparent and consultative work which guided the reform process.
“Our traditional institutions, which have served as the bedrock of peace, order, and identity, must also evolve to meet the realities of our growing population and changing society.
“The Bauchi of 1976 is not the Bauchi of 2025. Our population has multiplied, our towns have expanded, and the demands of governance have become more complex”
He said that any person or group found inciting division, spreading misinformation, or attempting to disrupt public peace will face the full consequences of the law.
The law enforcement agencies, represented today, are fully empowered to act decisively in maintaining peace and order.
He further said that any government official or traditional leader who acts contrary to the spirit of the reform, or engages in conduct capable of undermining its objectives, will face appropriate disciplinary action.
The governor, therefore call on all citizens of Bauchi State to embrace unity, support the new Emirates, Chiefdoms, and Districts to work hand in hand with their leaders to promote peace, development, and prosperity.
