A popular medical doctor and Chief Medical Director of Crown hospital Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra state, Edwin Emegoakor, was on Thursday evening, allegedly kidnapped by a four man gunmen in Army and Police uniforms.
It was gathered that the security operatives of the hospital, medical personnel and other workers within reach were surrendered at gunpoint and their phones confiscated during the operation.

Narrating the ordeal to The Nations News, by sources inside the hospital who pleaded anonymity, said the gunmen quietly drove into the hospital with a black tinted lexus 350 and parked.
“They then were casually discussing inside their car while people were moving about in the hospital freely without noticing them
“They were patiently waiting for their victim and later two of them, one in Army camouflage and the other in police uniform, came out.
“Then the CMD who was on a ward round, was seen and picked immediately by the men of the underworld.
“They made straight to the hospital security men, surrendered them as they were armed with chain bullets
“Some medical personnel there were surrendered while they collected their phones with those that were around and left with their victim, Dr Emegoakor.
“No life was lost and they did not make any shots as they were operating, obstensibly not to attract attention of patients and other passers-by,” they further hinted.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, (SP), said such report has not come to his table but pledged to get back to The Nations News shortly.
