ADC embarks on statewide membership registration, reconciliation
By Yagana Ali
The ADC is gearing up for a state‑wide tour that will see the newly‑installed interim team hit every one of Adamawa’s 21 LGAs and 226 wards.
Sadiq Dasin, the chairman transition committee says the tour is meant to “re‑validate old membership cards, register fresh supporters and hand out new cards” while also setting up ward‑level leadership structures that will feed into the party’s 2027 campaign machinery.
The tour is being framed as the first step toward a “credible opposition” that can actually deliver on the ground, not just talk in the capital.

The Adamawa State High Court has thrown out a lawsuit brought by embattled former state chairman Shehu Yohanna Kambile, who had challenged the National Working Committee’s decision to dissolve his executive team and install a transition committee led by Sadiq Dasin.
Justice Benjamin Manji ruled that Yohanna never proved he was the legitimately elected chairman in the 2022 ADC congress, noting that the only documentary evidence he presented – an INEC letter – actually named Muhammad Arabi Mustapha as the elected leaders.

The court also upheld the ADC constitution’s Article 19 (12)(1)(xi), which gives the NWC sweeping powers to dissolve state executives and appoint interim structures, even when a faction claims a four‑year tenure.
As a result, all six reliefs Yohanna sought were denied, and the case was dismissed in its entirety.
In the wake of the verdict, Acting State Chairman Saidu Komsiri hailed the judgment as “a victory for every grassroots stakeholder” and pledged to push reconciliation, revalidation of membership cards and fresh party congresses ahead of the 2027 election.
The ruling caps a months‑long power struggle that has split the Adamawa ADC into three rival factions, with the court now affirming the legitimacy of the Dasin‑Komsiri leadership team.
