Adamawa Govt honours Super Falcons Coach, Justine Madugu

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has showered Coach Justine Madugu, the mastermind behind the Super Falcons’ victory at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, with a three-bedroom bungalow and a cash reward of N50 million.

 This gesture is a testament to the state’s appreciation for Madugu’s outstanding achievement, which marked Nigeria’s record 10th WAFCON title.

Madugu, a proud son of Numan Local Government Area in Adamawa State, was accorded a warm welcome at the Government House in Yola. 

Governor Fintiri commended Madugu’s patriotism, tactical intelligence, and exceptional leadership, noting that his guidance played a pivotal role in the team’s success.

While presenting the gifts, Governor Fintiri reiterated his administration’s commitment to developing sports infrastructure in the state. 

He highlighted ongoing projects, including the construction of modern stadiums, aimed at nurturing young talents and promoting sports development. 

Fintiri also encouraged Madugu to mentor aspiring athletes in Adamawa, ensuring his expertise benefits the state’s sports ecosystem.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Madugu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Governor Fintiri and the people of Adamawa State for the recognition.

 He emphasized his commitment to leaving a lasting legacy for his state and advocated for greater support for women in sports.
