The Adamawa state deputy governor, Kaletapwa Farauta, has applauded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for partnering the state to alleviate hunger, poverty and donating essential food items to over 2,450 vulnerable households in the state.
Farauta described the timely intervention made through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), aimed to provide relief to families facing food insecurity, particularly during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Death toll of NNN beneficiaries awaiting payment under NSGF rises to 106
The donation, according to him, is part of the ETA’AM Basket Project, which targets internally displaced persons, orphans, widows, the elderly, and other at-risk individuals.
He stressed that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has partnered with KSrelief to implement the food assistance program, aligning with their mission to support humanitarian efforts globally.
Farauta emphasized the significance of this support, urging concerted efforts to tackle vulnerability, especially during catastrophes.
She appreciated the collaboration between NEMA and the state government, thanking the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their generosity.
The Director General of NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, represented by Mr. Onibode A. Bandele, also expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their continued support.
“This assistance reinforces efforts to alleviate hunger and enhance food security during Ramadan, demonstrating the Kingdom’s commitment to global solidarity and the well-being of vulnerable populations in Nigeria.
