‘Why Bauchi Govt delays In producing fertiliser this Year -Commissioner

Iliyasu Gital, Bauchi State Commissioner of Agriculture on Wednesday said the reason why government Fertiliser is not available for the State farmers is because of the unavailability of row materials in the market. 

The commissioner said this during press briefing held at the conference hall of the secretary to the state government. 

He said that the State Governor has given them the directive that they should go all over the world to buy the row materials and make fertiliser available to the farmers. 

He further said that no matter how cause of the row material in the market, they will buy it, produce fertiliser and sale it to the state farmers at the affordable price. 

According to the Commissioner, said that by God grace what ever the cause of row materials making fertiliser is in the market “They will start coming to Bauchi today in other to make available of the fertiliser to our farmers”

Adding that the fertiliser row materials will continue to come, said “We are not only dependent on the one that we are going to produce in Bauchi because time is running out but also negotiating with OCP Africa to ensure that our farmers get enough fertiliser in other to have bumper harvest this year”

“OCP Africa and Morocco have decided to provide 50 trucks of fertiliser to the Bauchi State Government and each bag will be sale at affordable price. Adding that as a farmer, I can not sit down and be looking at this situation that is happening in the state and don’t advise governor on what to do “

“Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir of the State has showed more concern about the issue of fertiliser in the state and is always having sleepless night with the situation which give directive time address it with immediate effect”

The Agriculture commissioner, Iliyasu Gital  begs farmers in the state to exercise patience, saying that by God grace in few days the fertiliser will be available for use.
