Osun: Gov. Adeleke’s victory is a victory for democracy -Bauchi NDC chieftain insists

​A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Bauchi State  Godiya Iliya Waki  has said that tte outcome of the recently concluded governorship election in Osun State has provided another opportunity to demonstrate that Nigeria’s democracy is capable of producing outcomes that reflect the wishes of the people, 

​The party chieftain stated that the election reminded Nigerians that the people, not political assumptions, determine electoral outcomes. 

He noted that party structures and long-standing political calculations cannot replace genuine grassroots connection, credible leadership, and the trust of the electorate.

​​Speaking on the path forward, Wakil emphasised that the 2027 general elections must focus on the people and their future. 

He asserted that citizens must look beyond party sentiments and elect leaders who can genuinely represent collective interests, articulate aspirations, and provide effective representation at the National Assembly.

​Wakil specified that Bauchi State, particularly the Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa-Balewa federal constituency, deserves representation founded on competence, accessibility, accountability, and a sincere commitment to development. 

He reiterated that Osun State has shown how political change begins when citizens recognise the power of their votes, urging the electorate to make their votes count in 2027.

​Wakil commended Governor Ademola Jackson Adeleke for securing a renewed mandate from the people of Osun State. 

He urged the governor to view the victory as a renewed responsibility to deliver inclusive development, good governance, and people-oriented leadership.

​”The victory of Governor Ademola Adeleke is a victory for democracy and a clear demonstration that the people’s votes can determine the direction of governance when the electoral process is allowed to function effectively,” Wakil stated. 

He further encouraged the governor to unite the people of Osun State and continue working towards its development and prosperity.
