“His Excellency has transformed the Tapshin community into an urban area by constructing the Boi-Tapshin road, including a standard bridge that links Bogoro/Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas in Bauchi State and Pankshin in Plateau State. For years, the communities along the road corridor were cut off during the rainy season because of the river and washing away of roads due to floods leading to loss of lives”

Ketkukah further said that during the wet season, flooding from Tapshin river historically paralyzed local transport, leaving travelers and locals completely stranded for days and making it incredibly difficult to transport agricultural products. The river claimed many lives including pregnant women and children crossing the river and due to delay in taking patients to local health centers away from Tapshin.

“I recall painful experiences of being stranded many times and leaving my car at Boi to cross the river on foot and motor bike whenever the rainy season sets in. We went through hell especially during the rainy season because of lack of an access road”

He said that governor Bala has provided impactful road projects that are significant to the local economy and daily lives of citizens, construction of rural roads have provided communities with improved access to markets, schools and health care services which have enhanced daily lives of citizens.

“Governor Bala Mohammed’s decision to establish new Emirates, the Sayawa Chiefdom, and Districts in Bauchi State is a landmark move that deepens grassroots governance, promotes inclusivity, and honors the cultural autonomy of diverse communities.

“The creation of Tapshin District is a recent administrative and traditional milestone in the Zaar Chiefdom of Tafawa-Balewa Local Government Area, Bauchi State. The district was officially established to enhance grassroots governance and bring traditional leadership closer to the people. Elevating Tapshin to district status is intended to foster localized peace, socio-economic development, and administrative unity in the region”
