Primaries: Nweke emerges PDP Enugu East senatorial candidate.

The Enugu east senatorial aspirants of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Kingsley Chizoba Nweke, has emerged as the winner of the party primary election to contest for the senatorial seat for the upcoming 2027 election.

The direct primary election took place at Nkwo market square Ishi Ozalla, Nkanu west local government area of Enugu State. 

The Chairman, PDP senatorial Primary election committee Enugu State, John Chikezie Nnam, announcing the result at the venue declared that the total of 43,441 voters were accredited and Kingsley Nweke emerged the winner with the total of 42, 341 votes.

Speaking in an interview, the chairman national senatorial electoral primary committee PDP Prince Marshall Okafor, commended the free and fair election noting that the mamoth crowd shows that Nweke is a likable character and chosen by his people.

The Chairman, Enugu State People’s Democratic party, Vitus Okechi speaking with journalists also commended the free and fair election and large turn out of voters. 

He noted that it shows the people of Enugu East love and  fully supports PDP and the senatorial candidate Kingsley Nweke. ” PDP will capture Enugu and lion building back again” he said.

He further noted that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the national and state level does not have faction but one. 

“I am the Enugu State chairman and we have the national Chairman. He advice people to disregard any information saying that PDP has factions.

The emerged candidate to contest for the PDP Enugu East senatorial position, Kingsley Chizoba Nweke in an interview, appreciated the people of Enugu East zone for their support.

He promised that if he wins the election, he will maintain close communication with his people and sensitize them on how to hold their representatives accountable.

The election witnessed large turn out of voters in the senatorial zone.
