2027: Reps, Igariwey’s 4th term bid can never be feasible, God is against him -Akaji fumes

…..Accuses him of awarding all contracts to her sister and failing to do projects in Edda for 12yrs,

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edda local government area of Ebonyi State, Chief Godwin Ude Akaji has faulted the fourth term ambition of the house of representative, Idu Igariwey, representing Afikpo/ Edda federal constituency in the national Assembly.

He said that both God and the entire Edda community and its stakeholders have rejected Idu Igariwey, and urged him to jettison the ambition of returning to the house of representative for the fourth time, instead, he should contest for Senate or other positions.

Akaji, a former council chairman of Afikpo South LGA now known as Edda LGA, made this known while speaking with newsmen in Abakaliki, 

He added that the Reps member, Igariwey is displaying ingratitude by abandoning those who helped him 12 yrs ago when he had nothing to prosecute his election, paving the way for him to ascend to power.

The APC chieftain, Akaji denied the purported endorsement of Idu Igariwey by some elders, who according to him are not genuine traditional rulers of Edda, and vowed such alleged money induced  endorsement can never hold water.

Akaji, a former Zonal Chairman of the peoples Democratic party, PDP, for Ebonyi South.as well as, Former Ebonyi State Organizing Secretary, however urged Igariwey to shun deceiving the people of Edda LGA.

“Idu Igariwey’s fourth term re-election bid can never be feasible, mind the word, never.I’d like to say that my good friend, Idu Igariwe, has been so lucky. And God has been so gracious to him.

“Nobody, I say nobody from Edda has ever ventured to go to rest for the third time. It’s only Christopher Omo-Isu who has been there for the first and second time, which is 8 years.And this is almost 12 years running, Idu has been there consecutively.

“And so, he should be thankful to God, that God gave him life, strength and wisdom to be there after these 12 years running.And so, should willingly relinquish the position to Edda.No single Edda man, no single Edda elite, man or woman is happy to hear that from Idu.

“Anybody telling him or deceiving him to come out for fourth tenure is only going after his money.And if he doesn’t go back, if he doesn’t go away from that context, he will waste all the money he has so conserved over the years. And yet he cannot have that quarter, he cannot actualize it.

“It’s not actualizable, it’s not feasible. So it’s a very tall dream, he must jettison it, for him to maintain his integrity after office. He must be able to realize what it takes to be fair, what it takes to apply equity at any aspect of your life.

“Equity demands that this is a position shared by Edda and other people.And naturally and sincerely, he should relinquish the position to Edda LGA.

Idu felt he cannot keep to the  agreement he entered with Edda people.Nature, on its own, will work on it and prove to him that he must obey agreement.

“Even though the agreement is not written.But conventionally and morally, he should have known that God has been so gracious to him,for him to be the first, second and third.So he should quit from the fourth tenure agenda.

“He shouldn’t even think of it all.He’s over the place, they are saying it, but he believes he has acquired so much money under the sun to buy himself, to buy his way through. But there’s an extent to which your money can go and then grace will stop you.

“The grace of God, when the grace of God leaves you, your money cannot go further than that.So at this point, I’ve seen spiritually that the grace of God has left Idu. If he’s contesting for reps, he can go for senate.

“If he feels he has performed, he can go for governor.If he feels he has performed, he has all the capacity and pedigree to be at this level.Nobody is contesting that with him.

“He does not even need to campaign.If you have worked for your people, they will promote you naturally. So either people will be willing to promote him to the senate.

“They will be willing to promote him to governorship, where he deserves to be now. But if it is that house of representatives, it belongs to Edda and our traditional rulershave made that known to the government.

“They’ve gone to the governor and made that request and presentation.And our people also have been writing about it. So it depends on him to hear.

“But you know those who don’t want to hear, it will first of all make them mad. So it’s like, he has been made mad with his ambition.So that’s the way I see him.

Reacting on the purported of Igariwey by some elfers in Edda LGA, Akaji said “Inevery hamlet, we have those we call chief.

“Those are the aggregation of the Ezakpa.It is not like the traditional rulers, recognized by the governor,and crowned,and given staff of office.They are not.

“And so, and what they mean by that, ‘purported endorsement’is that Idu Igariwey has graduated to the level of promoting himselfto such positions as senate and governor.

“He’s ripe, he’s matured, he has acquired so much moneyto prepare himself, to campaign himself,to run his election to that level He has the capacity to do that, but not to represent Edda as somebody who has been failing class” he stressed.
