Police arrest 3 male suspects, recover firearm in Enugu

The Enugu State Police Command have arrested three male suspects in separate coordinated crime-prevention operations and recovered a firearm, six rounds of live ammunition, a tricycle, and other exhibits.
In a press statement sent by the Police public relations officer Enugu State command headquarters Daniel Ndukwe said that operatives deployed

from the Department of Operations on surveillance patrol along the Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway intercepted a tricycle with an unregistered number.
During a thorough search, a locally fabricated double-barrel pistol was recovered from two occupants of the vehicle.
The suspects, identified as Ugochukwu Samuel (male, aged 26) and Kevin Kosichukwu (male, aged 26), were promptly arrested, and the tricycle was recovered.
In a related development, at about 10:30 a.m. on the same day, a patrol team attached to the Udenu Area Command, while on proactive stop-and-search duty along Nsukka Road, Orba in Udenu LGA, intercepted a motorcycle conveying two young men. On sighting the operatives, one of the individuals fled into a nearby bush.
The rider, identified as Chinedu Harrison (male, aged 17) was arrested, and six rounds of 9mm live ammunition were recovered from him. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to being a member of the Arrow Barger cult group and made further useful disclosures.
Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect and other accomplices linked to the cases. The suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigations.

The Commissioner of Police Mamman Bitrus Giwa, commended the operatives for their adherence to proactive policing protocols and urged all frontline personnel to sustain the momentum.
He further called on citizens to remain alert and law-abiding, and to continue supporting the Police with credible and actionable information, reaffirming the Command’s unwavering commitment to rid Enugu State of unrepentant criminal elements.
