 Modibbo Adama University (MAU) Yola has conferred certificates, diplomas, and degrees on 7,094 graduands, and honorary degrees on four prominent personalities in Nigeria, at its 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremony.

The occasion was graced by dignitaries, including governors, politicians, traditional rulers, spiritual leaders, professors, vice chancellors, provosts, registrars, military personnel, and paramilitary personnel from across Nigeria.

In a message, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Kabir Bala, congratulated the graduands and the Vice Chancellor,  Ibrahim Umar, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to tertiary education. 

The President highlighted initiatives such as NELFUND for students, TISSF for staff, and increased funding for capacity building.

Adamawa State Governor,  Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, praised MAU Yola for its contributions to national capacity building, noting that many newly recruited staff in Adamawa State are products of the university. He promised to continue supporting the institution.

The Chancellor of MAU Yola, HRH Okuku Uwa Umoh Adiaka III, represented by Vice Chancellor, Ibrahim Umar, congratulated the graduands and urged them to live up to the challenges of their times and unite to develop Nigeria.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council,  Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi, advised the graduands to be innovators of positive change in their communities and Nigeria at large.

Honorary degree recipients include Mallam Nuhu Ribadu (Doctor of Law), Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari (Doctor of Letter), Senator Prince Bassey Edet Etu (Doctor of Humanities), and Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa (Doctor of Management).

The event was marked by jubilations, parent-group photographs, and joyful activities, as the university celebrated a milestone achievement with 7,094 graduands, amidst a festive atmosphere of joy and accomplishment.
