Protest in Onitsha, as police storm market to reinforce public order, safety, confidence

The Commissioner of Police is currently on a security assessment tour, personally supervising and evaluating the deployment of Police-led Joint Security Forces at strategic locations within Onitsha.
According to the state Puce Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Tochukwu Ikenga, (SP), “This proactive engagement underscores the Command’s resolve to maintain peace, ensure compliance with lawful directives, and prevent any breach of public order.
“The security situation in Onitsha remains calm and firmly under control, as the Command continues to reassure residents, traders, and commuters of their safety,” he stated.

Meanwhile palpable fear has reportedly gripped residents of Onitsha over fear of u certainly ty following the three consecutive days of protest, Monday to Wednesday, as the protesters vowed to continue the process.
According to the residents gover or Soludo should save the situation by reopening the market to avoid scores of the traders findng the selves in the labour market.
