The Bishop on the Niger, Anglican Communion, Anambra State, the Rt Rev Owen Nwokolo, has assured Nigerians that the year 2026 would usher triumph, recovery, and renewed national hope.

He called on citizens to embrace hard work, faith, and commitment to the country’s progress.

In his New Year message to Nigerians, Bishop Nwokolo described 2026 as “the year of our Lord,” made possible by God who he said has remained faithful “in ages past and our help in years to come.”

He declared that because God is the Lord and owner of the year, Nigerians should expect victory over long-standing challenges and the restoration of what had been lost.

According to the Bishop, 2026 will be a year of great prospects and productivity, stressing that diligence and perseverance would yield tangible rewards.

He noted that the New Year would mark a season of accomplishment, where he remarked that honest labour would translate into visible success and national renewal.

Bishop Nwokolo also charged Nigerian workers, particularly civil servants, to shun idleness and recommit themselves to productive service.

Quoting scriptural principles, he emphasized that meaningful progress is rooted in work, discipline, and responsibility, adding that national growth depended on the collective efforts of citizens.

He further urged Nigerians not to lose faith in the country or believe that prosperity lied only outside the nation’s borders.

“This is the year to make things better here,” he said, expressing confidence that Nigeria would survive and prosper despite her present difficulties.

Addressing fears about the future, the Anglican cleric encouraged Nigerians to face 2026 with courage, focus, and hope, reminding them that hope anchored in God does not disappoint.

He reassured citizens that holding firmly to God’s promises would guarantee peace and stability throughout the year.
