The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ebonyi State chapter on Monday declared total loyalty to the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike and the Samuel Anyanwu led national caretaker committee, and however, vowed to win elections in the forthcoming 2027 general election in the country.
The Party further gives 48 hours ultimatum to all illegal occupants of the Ebonyi PDP secretariat across the State, to immediately remove their personal belongings and vacate the premises and failure to comply will attract legal consequences.
The Ebonyi PDP caretaker committee led by Emmanuel Ekuma among other prominent stakeholders of the party in the South East region, made this known in a communique signed and issued to newsmen shortly after it’s emergency meeting held in the state.
The communique reads in part: “PDP is the Party to beat in the 2027 general election, as the Party at the State and National level is gearing up to, not only move the Party forward but to also take over the Political landscape of the State and Nigeria as a whole.
“It is instructive to reaffirm that the structures of the PDP are alive in all the 171 electoral Wards, 13 Local Government Areas and at the State level in Ebonyi State.
“We hereby affirm our loyalty and confidence in the Caretaker National Working Committee (NWC) led by the Chairman, Abdulrahaman Mohammed and Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and our National Leader, Nyesom Wike.
“We also affirm our confidence in the Southeast Zonal Working Committee led by the Caretaker Chairman, Goodluck Chidiebere Egwu. We equally affirm our loyalty to the Board of Trustees (BoT) of our great party led by Senator Mao Ohuabunwa.
“We thank them for their continuous commitment, leadership and support towards the stability and progress of our party, through the enthronement of constitutionalism and the rule of law.
“The Committee firmly advises individuals who are parading themselves as members of the Ebonyi State leadership of the Party, South East Zonal leadership of the party, or in whatever guise to desist from such disorderly conduct and practice before the arms of the law catches up with them.

Ekuma threatened to take legal action against the suspected illegal occupants of the party Secretariat in the state.
“Similarly, the Committee hereby advises all illegal occupants of the PDP secretariat across the State, to immediately remove their personal belongings and vacate the premises within 48 hours of this broadcast. Failure to comply with this directive will attract lawful consequences.
“The State Committee reiterates its firm commitment to restoring unity, discipline and order within the Party and calls on all loyal members to cooperate fully with the Committee in the collective interest of the Party and the people of Ebonyi State.
“Let us use this opportunity to assure our teeming members in Ebonyi State that the PDP at the national level remains focused and ready to conduct outstanding congresses and our National Convention.
“Consequently, we reiterate that the PDP has not held its national convention as can be confirmed by INEC’s rejection of the November 2025 gathering of some members of the party in Ibadan Oyo State.
“We call on our members and supporters to note that we are guided strictly by facts, law and compliance with constitutionalism. The claims that INEC had recognized the Ibadan gathering amounts to nothing more than media propaganda and should be disregarded as the same was void abinitio.
“You cannot place something on top of nothing and expect it to stand. Furthermore, following the decision of the Ondo State High Court, striking out the name of INEC as a defendant in the matter before the court, no outcome, decision or determination arising from such suit can be binding on INEC under whatever circumstances.
“Little wonder, therefore, they have now hurriedly approached a Federal High Court seeking an order to mandate or compel the independent National Electoral Commission to recognize the kangaroo gathering and the individuals purportedly elected as members of leaders of the party in that gathering.
“We know that meeting prominent leaders in Nigeria can never amount to legitimacy of an illegality
“The Committee sincerely thanks the good people of Ebonyi State, especially members of the People’s Democratic Party, for their overwhelming support, solidarity and continued commitment to the Party despite the activities of anti-democratic forces and those who think that the party is their personal shop for money-making” the party leadership stressed.
