The Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, on Tuesday, blamed the Federal Government over the rising insecurity in the country.

The group equally, accused the government of honouring sponsors of insecurity vis-a-vis violent crime, especially kidnapping.

They decried the spate of insecurity in Nigeria, especially the kidnapping of school children, and other violent crimes by bandits as very worrisome.

Addressing newsmen in Onitsha, the Nnewi South Regional Administrator, Anthony  Nwodo, lamented that instead of the federal government to find means of curbing the increased crime wave in the entire country, “the government only honours sponsors of kidnapping and political violence.

The statement reads in part: “Today it is kidnapping of school children and all that, and the government pretends as if nothing is happening.

“The parents of these kidnapped children must have been traumatized. Funny enough the kids of these politicians and sponsors of the violent crimes  are studying overseas.

“Just the other time, our leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruoke,  Eze Ndigbo Gburugburu, was invited by the Imo state Police Commissioner for saying he will participate in the campaign to free Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader.

“If it were to be in a place like Sokoto, will the police invite the Saduana of Sokoto, the Oba of Benin and others.

“The Oba Akiolu of Lagos if you will recall, because of political interest, vowed to ensure Igbos are drowned in Lagos lagoon if they failed to vote for the candidate of his choice. FG did not do anything to him for openly saying that.

“This is a person they made a king and he is supported by government. It boils down to what we are saying that government adores politicians and sponsors of violent crimes.

“Today both the poor and rich run away from bandits, kidnappers, and armed robbers.

“In the Southeast security operatives take over all roads but in the North Boko Haram, bandits and kidnappers take over local government areas and government pretends as if nothing is happening.

“The poor people in the North have now realized that the rich never want them to be rich but to remain as Amajiris. Let it be known that the rich in the North are selfish people and continue to be in power (politics).

“The majority of the Northerners who are more affected by the violent crimes are happy that US President, Donald Trump is ready to come and rescue them from the criminals,” he revealed.
