Hardship: ‘Give women chance to contribute in restoring Nigeria’s dwindling economy – Nwoke urges leaders

The Chairman House Committee on Youth and Sports and Member representing Abakaliki North Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Mr. Victor Chidi Nwoke has urged Nigerian leaders to give women chance in contributing to the restoration of the country’s dwindling economy.
Nwoke who made this known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Abakaliki, to mark this year’s international women day, titled ‘invest in women, accelerate progress’ said that women are key to Nigeria’s development.
He said that Women plays a multifaceted role, contributing to family, economy, justice, and social progress and empowering women to benefits society by creating an inclusive, equitable world.
The lawmaker, Nwoke said that the best way to accelerate economic growth and build more prosperous, equitable societies is to give women chance to contribute their own quota in order to make the country move forward for progress.
“This year’s theme is apt, because of the dwindling economy, hardship, hunger and skyrocketed cost of living which is orchestrated and bedevilled by economic downturn of the nations economy, hence the need for women to be given the chance to contribute their own quota in ensuring that the country moves forward”.
The lawmaker, Nwoke further stated that a lot of women have contributed positively to the societal growth and economic development of the country.
He called on Nigerian leaders to see the need to invest in women by given them quality education and as well chance to contribute their quota in revamping the nations economy.
“A lot of women has contributed meaningfully in the development and growth of the nation, I think, it is very momentous we invest on our women by giving them quality chance to contribute their quota in revamping and resuscitating our economy in order to better the lives of the citizens of the country because women are influential and I know they can try their best” he stated.
