LG polls: NSIEC boss vows to conduct hitch-free exercise, distribute materials

The Niger state independent electoral Commission, NSIEC has distributed sensitive materials for the local government area election slated to hold coming Saturday, November 1st, 2025.
The Nations News reports that the local government area election are to be contested by ten registered political parties in the state.
The chairman of the commission, Mohammed Jibrin Imam assured of a hitch-free exercise while distributing sensitive electoral materials at the Commission’s headquarters in Minna.
He noted that. NSIEC decided to call all stakeholders to witness the distribution to enhance transperancy of the electoral process.
Jibrin Imam stated that the non sensitive materials had already been duly delivered to the 25 Local Government Electoral Officers (EOs) while the distribution of sensitive materials is being done early to avoid unforseen logistically problems.

He maintained that the materials are being distributed to the 4,950 polling units, 274 wards and the 25 local government areas consisting of both councillorship and chairmanship materials for the elections.
NSIEC boss emphasized that the full constitutional processes were strictly followed to avoid complaints which has not been recorded either from the political parties, security agencies, observers among others.
He charged on the political actors especially the political parties to adhere strictly with the signed peace accord, assuring to ensure a level playing ground for all, while the commission remains open to listen to complaints.
Jibrin Imam however appreciated the election stakeholders for their support, understanding and cooperation throughout the process, urging for its sustainable in order to achieve a credible, peaceful, acceptable local government elections in Niger state.
A total of ten political parties are contesting the elections, namely; All Progressives Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, Social Democratic Party, Action Alliance, APGA, and Accord party.
Others are Action Democratic Congress, Labour party, Boot party, and National Resue movement ( NRM)
