Chieftaincy tussle: Don’t Impose a King on us – Concern Zaar tells Gov Bala 

The Zaar Concern Patriots Global of Bogoro and Tafawa-Baleawa local government areas of Bauchi State, has urged the state governor, Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir not to impose a king on them by force.

The group stressed that they don’t want a different candidate, except the one that were earlier choose by the people, Gung Zaar select, Retired Air Commodore Ishaku Komo. 

The group made this known in a press statement signed by the Chairman of the group, Comrade John Rica Emmanuel and issued to journalists in Bauchi. 

Rica humbly reminded the governor of last  promise he made for the actualization of Zaar chiefdom without creating problems. 

According to the group said that “We are grateful for your efforts to put an end to the long-standing chiefdom crisis and struggles. 

“In your speech some months ago, you assured us that you would ensure the creation of the Zaar chiefdom, and we appreciate your commitment to this cause”

Adding that “We are writing to express our deep concern about the  recent rumors suggesting that you intend to appoint retired Major General Yake as the Gung zaar, if that is true, is contrary to the widely accepted and submitted candidate, HRH Air Commodore Ishaku Komo Rtd”

“We wish to inform you that the Zaar people have overwhelmingly supported HRH Air Commodore Ishaku Komo Rtd as their sole candidate for the throne of Gungzaar. 

“The Zaar traditional council is also not aware of  the candidate that you’re trying to impose than Ishaku Komo”

He urged the governor to consider the potential consequences of going against the people’s wish, as this could lead to something that, if care is not taking will disturb the peace and unity of Zaar people, which is very bad. 

He further said that Yake’s candidacy is particularly contentious due to his past actions, including his involvement in the arrest of HRH Air Commodore Ishaku Komo Rtd during the Sang crisis, which has left deep scars.

“Your Excellency, we recall your leadership role in the 2019 elections, where the Zaar people rallied behind you and contributed to your emergence as the governor of Bauchi State. 

We believe that honoring your promise to the Zaar people by confirming HRH Air Commodore Ishaku Komo Rtd as the Gungzaar will be a gesture of goodwill and a demonstration of your commitment to the unity and progress of our people.

“We, therefore, humbly request that you consider the wishes of the Zaar people and confirm HRH Air Commodore Ishaku Komo Rtd as the Gungzaar than to imposed someone on us, which might throw our communities into problems.
