2027: we are ready to take over power in C’River, Nigeria – ADC

As build-up to 2027 elections is gradually gathering momentum in the Country, it is no longer rumor that former Governor, liyel Imoke has joined the ADC, also Ex-Buhari’s Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Usani, Senator Gershom Bassey among other top politicians in the State have regrouped to outster APC leadership led by Bassey Otu from power

The coalition led by former Governor Liyel Imoke, has vowed to take over power from the current administration of prince Bassey Otu. In his opening remarks,Imoke stated that the coalition major Pre-occupation is to ensure that the country does not retrogress to an extent that it becomes irredeemable.

“You can imagine what it has taken us to bring in Peter Obi, Atiku, El-rufai. We are quite aware of the infiltration that has taken place amongst the various political parties”.

“You can imagine the high level of dictatorship. For us to bring these key personalities into the coalition isn’t easy”, he stated.

“You can see why the current administration has become so afraid.Our mission is to build a new leadership in Cross River State”.

“What we are looking at here in Cross River State is a movement. I have specially requested a few young people to be here.”Imoke maintained”.

Also in the group is former State party chairman for the PDP ( Cross River State) Ntufam Ekpo Okon, Akin Ricketts, former House representative member for Abi/ Yakurr Federal constituency at the National Assembly, Bassey Ewa, Ntete Bassey-Duke , Chief Ugba Murphy, among others.

In his remarks, chief Ntete Bassey asked the coalition to ensure that Labour party members are brought into the coalition.

Also speaking, National chairman All Democratic Alliance (ADA ) Akin Ricketts, who claimed he came into the group under the aegis of APC but now a bonafide member of the coalition, said that he and his ally joined the coalition in order to take over power.

In his remarks former senator who represented Cross River Southern Senatorial district Chief Gershom Bassey, said we cannot have a system in Nigeria where people would predict election results that was yet to be contested.

“We have to contest those ideas and put it across to the people. We are doing these for the sake of democracy”.

Also speaking, former senatorial aspirant for Cross River North Senatorial district, Chief Ugba Murphy stated that the only way forward is to secure the future of the nation for generations to come.

“I stand here as someone who grew up in the circumstances that can be good for Nigerians and not for others”.

“Some people think that if they make the country better they would no longer become better, and solicited for commitment to ensure that the coalition becomes formidable.
