2027: Nwifuru gets fresh boost as PUM leaders visit Ebonyi APC Chairman

The Ebonyi State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, has received members of the executive of the Polling Unit Mobilization (PUM) for FON 2027.

The Nations News reports that the group visited the party secretariat to express support for Governor Francis  Nwifuru’s 2027 re-election bid.

The delegation, led by Ogbuefi Zack, a former Leader of the Onicha Local Government Legislative Council and former Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, met with the APC chairman during a visit to the party’s office.

The group said its visit was aimed at formally registering its support and solidarity for the governor ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

PUM for FON 2027 is a political mobilization platform comprising members and supporters drawn from different political parties and political backgrounds across Ebonyi State.

The group’s leadership said the organization was established to mobilize support at the grassroots and coordinate its activities around polling units across the state.

Speaking during the meeting, Emegha welcomed the PUM executives and acknowledged their decision to identify with the APC-led administration and the governor’s re-election campaign.

He described grassroots mobilization as an important component of political participation, particularly in an electoral system where polling units remain a critical point of contact between political organizations and voters.

Emegha also urged members of the group to conduct their activities within the provisions of the law and respect the rights of citizens to make their political choices freely.

The APC chairman said the party would continue to engage stakeholders and supporters across the state as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.

In his remarks, Ogbuefi Zack reaffirmed the commitment of the PUM leadership to its stated objective of mobilizing supporters for the governor across the state.

He said the composition of the group reflected its effort to bring together people from different political parties and backgrounds around its campaign objective.

The meeting further provided an opportunity for the PUM executives and APC leadership to discuss grassroots mobilization and political participation ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.

The development comes as political activities and alignments ahead of the 2027 elections continue to take shape across Ebonyi State, with political groups increasingly engaging stakeholders at the grassroots.

Speaking shortly after the visit, the former house of representatives candidate for DLA, and liaison officer- Media for PUM, Godwin Aliuna reaffirmed the group’s commitment to massively mobilize millions of voters for the governor, Francis Nwifuru come 2027 general election.

He said that the zoning of the governorship position has come to stay in Ebonyi, and that any content creator/ joker who thinks that he can thwart that arrangement is a day dreamer and can never enter the government house through the back door.

Aliuna, however, applauded the governor for the massive infrastructural, human capital development and many other dividends of democracy that his administration has provided for the people of the state for the past few years in office.
