“We are resolute despite Insecurity, Economic, Political Challenges  – NHR Sec, Ojukwu

The Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission, Tony Ojukwu, Executive has said they remain resolute and steady in their work despite the challenges of the insecurity, social, economic and political problems in the country. 

Ojukwu said this during the 30th anniversary celebration and service to human rights of the National Human Rights Commission, held in Bauchi.

The Executive secretary of the Commission who was represented by the Bauchi State coordinator of the Commission, Yahcit Dala. Ojukwu said that the spirit of the gathering is a timeless message encapsulated in the promotion, protection and the enforcement of human rights in Nigeria.

He said that “Our today is not rooted in protest, anger but in unity, resolve to uphold human rights. Not as spectators but as active participants in shaping Nigeria where every rights is protected, every voice matters and no one is left behind in the promotion and protection of human rights”

He said that the celebration is a reminder that human rights flourish where communities embrace harmony, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence. 

“As Nigeria’s National Human Rights Institutions, we committed ourselves today to the mandate that has guided us for 30 years to protect, protect, promote and enforce the rights of all persons in Nigeria”

He further said that the task can not be done by the commission alone, but must be carried out by each and every one by the staff of ministries, departments and agencies. 

The Executive secretary of the Commission, Tony Ojukwu SAN, calls for building a nation where human rights are not aspirational ideals but daily realities “Let us continue to dream, to act and to stand firm, knowing that our collective effort is the engine that drives progress”

“AS we celebrate 30 years of the National Human Rights Commission, we do so with gratitude for the past, responsibility for the present and hope for a future where freedom, equality and justice are the heritage of everyone in Nigeria” he stressed
